Have you made any new year resolutions and if you have are you still sticking to them or have they fallen to the wayside already ?
This year my resolutions are simple –
- be happy
- have fun
- try to fit in 20-30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week
- enjoy the little things
- more quality time with my family
- improve my photography
- take myself out of my comfort zone more often
- grow my small business
- decorate my home
Now I reckon this is all achievable and all of the above are things I enjoy doing already ( well not so much the exercising part ). I just need to give a little more time and attention each day, to each of the above, rather than try to do it all at once and big things will come from these small changes.
Mondays and Tuesdays are set aside for my business, Wednesdays and Thursdays are going to be my sewing and listing on Etsy days, Fridays are for decorating as the husband doesn’t work on that day and the weekends are for the family.
Today is one of those dull grey, cold and miserable Winter days where all you want to do is drink tea and cuddle up on the sofa with a good book. My sister bought me this beautiful book for Christmas and I can highly recommend the 5 minute chocolate fondant in a mug. The book is full of makes and bakes for surviving the Winter months and has the most gorgeous photographs to inspire.
I had so many books for Christmas and if I am honest Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without books. I can’t imagine not being able to read I think it is one of the greatest gifts. From being a small child I have had many adventures through books from falling down the rabbit hole with Alice to rowing a boat along the river with mole and ratty to solving crimes with some of the best fictional Detectives and escaping to middle earth from time to time.
Happy New Year
