Its half term and so a little hectic here and the weather has been just frightful, if its not raining its blowing a gale or both at the same time. So the ideal weather for sewing, baking, reading and playing cards to pass the time and when the rain does stop quickly darting out for a walk along the beach or in the woods.
I am even more tired than normal as last night my naughty cat kept bringing in mice, some dead and some alive ! So it was a night of my poor husband trying to catch mice which he didn’t succeed doing until 5.30 this morning and he had to be at work by 7.30 so he is a walking zombie at the moment and the cat has slept all day the poor thing !
Talking of cats I have made a new apron for my shop which you can find here in my Etsy shop
What I like most about this apron, apart from the most gorgeous fabric, is the patch pockets. I usually do one large pocket but I had the idea for two pockets and I think it works well.
The apron has all the same details as all my other aprons with matching straps and ties and this one is made from a good quality cotton linen mix fabric.
Yesterday after a wind swept walk along the beach I made the apron and my daughter made some cherry shortbread biscuits, it is so nice now she can bake on her own and she loves doing it as well so bonus all around and they were buttery and crumbly. I asked people over on my Instagram, what their biscuit of choice was and they mostly said shortbread. What is yours ? I have a few including jaffa cakes and hobnobs when I am buying biscuits but homemade shortbread wins hands down.
I am working on a newsletter at the moment where once a month I am going to share offers, tutorials, recipes and insider news so if you are interested you can subscribe here. You will get a welcome newsletter to begin with and then a follow up newsletter later and then I am going to try to do one every couple of months and it is easy to unsubscribe anytime you want. It is something new I am wanting to try as I want to learn new skills which I am going to share my progress via the newsletter.
Have a good week
